Nossob rest camp is situated on the ephemeral Nossob riverbed, on the border with Botswana. The name means dark clay.
Nossob is also the all time favourite for spotting lions in the park!

ACCOMMODATION:
The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park is a popular destination with South Africans, so accommodation during Easter and the June/July school holidays is usually booked out well in advance.
Accommodation options include camping and recently-renovated, self-catering chalets.
ELECTRICITY:
A generator provides electricity from 05:00 to 21:30 daily.
SANparks have converted the power points at the campsites of the three main rest camps (Twee Rivieren, Nossob and Mata Mata), to the caravan type plug, and a blue converter is required to fit the ordinary South African three pronged plug.
FUEL:
The filling station in the camp sells premium and unleaded petrol and diesel, subject to availability.

MECHANICAL REPAIR:
The nearest tow-in service is based in Upington. (Nov-2014).
PERMITS:
The Wilderness Route from Nossob to Mabuasehube Camp requires a permit. (Nov-2014).
RESTAURANT:
There’s no restaurant at Nossob, only at Twee Rivieren.
ROAD & ROUTE INFO:
Travelling from Nossob to Tweerivieren is about 4.5 hours.
From Nossob to Union's End is about 3 hours.
From Nossob to Mata Mata, via the Kamqua dune road, is about 4.5 hours.
From Nossob to Bitterpan is about 2.5 hours.
The rough, sandy and corrugated park roads aren’t suitable for sedan vehicles. The speed limit inside the park is 50km/h and recommended tyre pressure for travelling in the park are: Vehicles: 1.6 bar. Trailers: 1.2 bar. Caravans: 2 bar
SHOP & SERVICES:
There’s a shop selling curios, alcohol, firewood, fresh meat, milk, cheese, eggs etc.
There is a swimming pool to cool down during the long hot summer days, while the predator centre at Nossob has a photographic display of predator interaction in the Kgalagadi.

WIFI:
Although there is no cell phone reception, Wi-Fi is available at Nossob, although it’s not always reliable. Wi-Fi vouchers can be purchased at the shop. While the camp does accept Master and Visa cards for payment, this relies on the effectiveness of the Wi-Fi reception which may not always be working.
Travellers must take note that there is no border post at Nossob. If you plan to enter the Kgalagadi
Transfrontier Park from South Africa, and then exit the park into Botswana at Nossob, you must make use of
the border facilities at Twee Rivieren (South Africa) and Two Rivers (Botswana).The two border posts share the same
building at the Twee Rivieren entrance gate.
A minimum stay of two nights on the South African side of the Kgalagadi is required if you plan to enter from one
country and exit to another.
